SWEET! There need to be many more places like this. It's so hard to go out and get some peace and quiet.

ETA: I don't think the guy was being a jerk at all! If children are doing things that cost him thousands of dollars to repair (drawing on leather couches?!) he can't afford to let them in.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

I thinks it's great! Twisterdog and Logan, if only there were lots more parents like you, it would be a much nicer world. Some people seem to think it's alright to take kids anywhere, including bars. I applaud the man. Unfortunaely, nothing like this will be allowed in the U.S. Someone would more than likely sue.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

You know, Val, many bed and breakfast inns do not allow children, and that's right here in the United States.

Don't get me wrong, you guys, I LOVE children, but I think there standards that parents need to apply in properly raising their children, and one is appropriate behavior and manners for public places! And until you have that figured out with your kids, you shouldn't put them in situations where they will disturb others. I was thinking about that family with that child we saw in the restaurant the other night and their dinner had to be expensive too, and how in the world could they enjoy it? Maybe they learned a lesson! One can only hope.

This whole thing made me remember back on a situation that I put Helen and myself in, when she was just too young. My sister and I took the kids to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (sp?) in the movie theater. Helen couldn't have even been 3 years old yet. She behaved horribly and I had to end up taking her out and I got mad at her. I've never forgotten that incident and how I got mad at the wrong person. I should have gotten mad at myself instead (and I did.......since I'm still feeling guilty about it 12 years later ).

I think it's a great idea. It sounds like his decision was a smart one, for his situation.

I'm right with you TwisterDog. Some places are just not places children should be. Movie theaters are one of my big things. I know and expect to see children if I go to see a movie rated G or even PG. I don't want to see small children in a movie rated PG-13 or R. Justin and I went to see The Exorcism of Emily Rose and there was a couple people with very young children there. I was flabbergasted that someone would take their young child to that movie, good greif, it scared me. One of the children was even crying at one point.

Cool!! I think it's a great idea also! When I was a waitress, I always said they should allow dogs in the restaurant and NOT children!!
I mean, Duncan would just sit their quietly next to me while I ate and then do his business outside, not right at the table!!!
