Jon Katz is a total idiot who knows nothing about dogs, he also says that dogs only live 8 years and that a rescue is the worst place you can get a dog, he encourgages his dogs to chase cars and considered his BC Homer a herding "star" when he could not even wear the sheep, and if I remeber correctly he also recieved a BC, that was shipped to him, first time met this full grown dog, and just opens the dogs crate in the middle of a busy airport, no leash nothing, just opens the crate and lets the dog out to runhe has admitted himself that he is completly cluless he is nothing but a writer and decided to write about dogs and now is consisdered an "expert"
on a BC board he is a common topic, a thread was started about him when one person listend to his radio show and she quoted what Jon Katz said on the air:
Just heard a radio interview with John Katz. He was giving "training advice." I had to turn it off, I got so angry. One lady called in that had a nine-month old mixed breed that was nipping her. He told her that her first mistake was getting a rescue. "Rescues have unknown backgrounds, they've been mistreated, mishandled, and abused, and they just DO this stuff." He also said that at this point the dog was too old to train out of this behavior (nine months!).
Another great quote - "Putting your dog down is the single greatest moral responsibility of dog ownership."
