This is the most distressing news.

I had such high hopes for your little girl. I know that there are no words to keep you from hurting but please know that we are hurting with you. together we know the (imaginary) guilt we put on ourselves and the "what ifs" that we ask ourselves. We know the heart wrenching pain of having to say good bye and feeling responsible for taking their life away. We've felt the total emptyness of having 1 less family member no matter how many others are still in our lives. But remember, the pain will pass and the beloved memories will remain with you always. Katie's spitit will never leave you, she is part of you.

I have cried all day over Katie. I have cried for you to Lorraine as I know your heart is broken and it will take you a long time to heal.
