I don't think you are being weird. I have heard of many things/habits/addictions that are far weirder than being attached to your dog.

I love Drake so terribly much. He is my baby boy! I take him everywhere with me, spend so much time with him, shower him with love, treats, and toys, and just love him to pieces. My husband is just as attached and is going through withdrawls! He calls Draker everyday and leaves him messages on the answering machine.
