Then you probably didn't do something right, but is the picture you posted the exact one you submitted to the contest?? Because if so, it doesn't look distorted at all. Perhaps because we just don't have an original to compare it with!

No, the picture I sent in for the contest is skinnier. But it's the exact size they requested. So I just don't know. Maybe they want skinny pictures?

What dimensions were they asking for?

This is what they asked for:

72 dpi
300-495 pixels in width
640 pixels in height

I can't show you what I submitted because that photo is on my home computer.

O_o Well those aren't really that odd. One step down from 800x600 is 640x480. Example, screen resolutions are 1024x768, step down is 800x600, step down is 640x480 so its quite proportional as far as dimensions go.

Yes, it takes away from some of the image, but the main focal point is still there and it isn't distorted and stretched out.
