Pet Talk name change?

The name has more of a sentimental meaning to some of us.

Of course we'll always be Pet Talkers... but to newcomers, we won't be. Like I said, there's really nothing we can do about it I guess.

I'm a little behind on this topic so forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question...a bit confused!

Our domain name is PetoftheDay.com right? Not PetTalk? Pet Talk is just the name of the message board, not the name of the site itself, is that right? So I guess my question is, are you thinking of changing the domain name, Pet of the Day, or just the name of the messge board? I know in the beginning I and a lot of others mistook this site for "PetTalk," not "Pet of the Day." I'm thinking the concern is more people searching for our site and mistakingly get connected with PetTalk.com?

Just the name of the message board will change. We own the domain name and always have been and will be PetoftheDay.com. We are considering the name change for the message board BECAUSE people have mistaken us for PetTalk.com which has been owned by someone else for years, but only recently became an actual website and message board. We had inquired over the years if they would even sell us the domain name when they weren't using it, but they repeatedly declined.

The family of websites will always be the PetoftheDay.com family, or CatoftheDay.com or DogoftheDay.com, those will never change, at least while Paul and I are living, breathing and in control of our mental faculties, and the Internet exists in something close to its present form.

That's what I was thinking Karen! I know that I used to mistakingly search "Pet Talk" in beginning...5 years ago this month as a matter of fact...and get connected to that other site! Thanks!

I'm with Phred- pettalkers is what we are! Could you use pet_talk.com with an underscore, or is that too close to be considered another name? Or just PT.com ? PTers.com?

Using another domains name never even came into my mind when I started calling myself, and others "pet talkers".. I dont even know why I started calling this pettalk.. I guess it just happend lol. Oh well.. don't change the sites whole address because that would be kinda silly.. I mean the site will always be petoftheday.com.. Not pettalk.com ..

At the risk of being rude - please, please try to keep in mind that Karen has
(now I know this is hard to believe!) A LIFE...........A JOB........A HUSBAND.......A BUNNY.........FAMILY.

She can't be everywhere all at once nor can Paul.

They have spent hours and hours getting all of our new toys and look to run smoothly - AND already answered a ton of questions we have all asked.

Maybe she likes to take a nap once in a while - but I bet not! Let's cut her some slack - o.k.?

Try to have more patience. As Gini already stated, they have lives outside of this message board. I know it may be hard to believe, but two days isn't a lot of time to be patient and wait for a response. They run this board ON THE SIDE in THEIR FREE TIME. Try to be a little more considerate next time.
