I find it's a matter of routine. I have a system worked out for them and it works as long as I stick to it. The dogs all know the schedule and they don't like it when I deviate from it either.Originally posted by asterix
I stand in awe of all you guys with 5 or more dogs.
How do you do it? How do you get the time? How do you have the space?
I feed at about the same time every day. I buy dog food by the tonne twice a year. Not only cheaper, but I never have to run to the store for food. It's always on hand. I hand out medications at the same time. I scoop poop every day. That way it takes 15 minutes instead of all day.
I keep a daytimer and journal just for dog(&cat) stuff. That's where I keep track of who got walked when & where, vet app'ts, any behavior changes, gotcha & birth days, who ran where in the sled team and how they did, ect.
I never planned on 22 dogs, but when I bought my house, I looked for a place with lots of room, no animal control limits and room to expand.
