Are we for sure switching the name?
Are we for sure switching the name?
I just notice this thread! I think Pet Buzz is good. Short, interesting, charming. Buzz is very sympathetic. Someone mentioned at the begining of this thread.
We would say:
- We are the Pet Buzzers
- We are at Pet Buzz
- We love to Pet Buzz (I loved this one!)
so on. Anyone would just other uses of Pet Buzz? By the way, what does it "buzz" means to the Americans? To me, a foreigner, it means to have fun, to talk a lot...
It would be www.petbuzz.com.
Very easy to say and read. If you say on the phone to somone I imagine there would not be problems of spealling. What you Americans say? I always test domains on the phone, how it sounds. It must be easy. Because, if you advertisy on radio, or give interveiw on radio and tv, people must hear and know how to write it.
It can also be a good trademark, which a domains always must be.

I was just wondering if you were going to change the name?
Huney, Bon & Simba-missed so very much

We will post the suggested names list/strong possibilities, and yes, we probably will be changing it - just not today!Originally Posted by anna_66

I know I already posted once in this thread but I'm sure it got lost in the sea of other replies and name suggestions.
I'm already used to calling this board "Pet Talk", you guys were here first, if anything the should change THEIR name, just because you buy a domain doesn't mean you were there first, and besides their forum is not even active, at all. So I think you're fine with staying as Pet Talk.
Petcetera?
-thank you Poppy for the avatar.
R.I.P. Hanson. You will never be forgotten, and we await the day to see you once again. The imprint you left on my heart will never fade - your big beautiful brown eyes, your big soggy kisses...
Seeing as how that's a name of a chain of pet stores here in Canada I really don't think they could get away with changing the name to that. We don't want Karen and Paul getting in trouble with the law after all.Originally Posted by MariaM

THANK YOU that's what I've been trying to say. There is NO SENSE in changing the name. It will only further confuse everyone.Originally Posted by EssTer
It won't be any harder to find than it already is, you'd just have to change your bookmark - no big deal. It would still be linked to each of the Dog of the Day, Cat of the Day and Pet of the Day homepages.
Karen that's not what I'm talking about, but.. eh, ok.
I just don't understand. We have been Pet Talk, Pet Talkers, referred to as PT for so many years now. Everyone in my immediate family, good friends, etc. know what I'm talking about when I say Pet Talk or PT.
It isn't hard to tell someone petoftheday.com/talk, or to go to petoftheday.com and click on the Pet Talk icon on the left.
We're Pet Talkers, We've been Pet Talk for years.... I don't see a reasonable need for change.
-sigh- I guess there's really nothing we can do however as it seems you are pretty set on changing the name. I've grown up with "Pet Talk." I guess the PET TALK calendars will be incorrect now.

Kay, if Pet Talk changes it's name, just think how much more special those calenders will be!I guess the PET TALK calendars will be incorrect now.![]()

Ever heard of "Brand LOYALTY"?
There's a lot of examples in the Retail & Business Trades, not to mention Magazines,
where a "name change" had very negative results.
"Wanting" a unique dot.com name might be OK IF you were just starting out ...
This is (or was) a very well established site with a huge following ...
One or two "lost souls" a week who can't find their way back isn't all that bad -
out of 8 Thousand visitors / Members!
I've NEVER had a problem getting New Folks directed to the site.
Is there a valid reason why "PetTalkers.com" isn't a viable choice?
PetTalkers.com seems like one of the most logical,
and potentially LEAST-upsetting to the Loyal Members, name change choices ...
And it seems to be falling on deaf ears.

Gee, folks, nothing has been ruled in or out yet, okay? We just did the upgrade, give us a few days to recover from that before any more big changes happen. We're not gonna just arbitrarily change it to Styfwsutfashdf.com or anything, I promise.
