Welcome Annie, Your going to lovr it here every one is wonderful. I have owned 2 mixed newfies, both were rescues . Buddy was newf and lab 120 lbs.lived till he was 10years old, had cancer that we finally had to put him down too much pain. Bear was newf and golden reteriver, (great for my spinning) he was given to a forever home in the country , after I got him up to weight and so training to be nice and polite. I don't have room now for one so I have merlin a springer .
We live about 25 miles from the Black paws kennels and rescue training center, so I see lots of them during the summer as they all come here to train. I watched them train for the heliocopter jump , it was awesome!!!! Someday.

Cora and I are a therapet team... she is very well socialized and has her CD as well. She seems to be drawn to smaller dogs... she is fascinated by them... One of her best friends is a doxie.... She seems to know that she must be very gentle.... I do have to admit to having a chuckle or two whenever she does a playbow.... specially if the other dog's owner is nearby... it is rather an awesome sight to see such a large dog playbowing to a tiny dog!!!!

I'm not meaning to be rude so please don't take this the wronge way, why is every dogs name Sadie? Why did my parents have to name me that when that is a popular DOGS name?

Maybe everyone just thinks it's such a pretty name that they give it to their pretty girl puppies!

I know what you mean. Sadie came to us as a 20 month old rescue. She was named Sadie... However, I know at least a half dozen other Sadie dogs! And being online, I am meeting even more! It's just a great name!

That's right! Sadie is a great name for a person... and anything else for that matter.

My neighbors accross the street have named their dog Annie!!! It took me awhile to figure out that they had a dog... I just thought they were calling over to me all the time... I'd hear "AAAAAAAAAAANNNnnnie".... and I'd look over and wave like a fool!

Then I realize they had gotten a puppy. LOL!!!! Was I embarassed!!!!

Annie, your dogs, including Sadie, are just gorgeous. My petsitter has one, and she says his personality reminds her so much of my Golden Retrievers. Just that the Newfoundlands are a lot bigger lap dogs!

And to the human Sadie, I feel your pain! More and more people are naming their dogs Logan too! And I for one am flattered that people like the name enough to use it for a pet that they love. Maybe you should think of it that way, and just be proud!

No, I don't. I would like to though. I'm just too busy with agility, tracking and LOTS of obedience with my Rott now. I would love to start, but I just don't have the time. 4 nights a week I'm off to some dog training event. Make that 5 starting in August.

ANNIE...A big, big newfie sized welcome from Sandra, Star (the lab) and Cody (the husky/shep) I work at a kennel and yesterday the most adorable, big, goofy, sweet, drooling, "lap" newfie came for a short stay! Oh what a snuggle puppins she is! You are so lucky to have and know the love of this terrific breed! Do your kids like the water?

Sadie is so beautiful. Thank you for rescuing her. What a loving life she must have enjoyed with you. I am so sorry she had to leave you so soon. Your "signature" says it all; and, every time I see it posted, my heart skips a beat.

Now you give Cora and Kira (those stunning girls!) a big, gigantic hug for me!

    WELCOME!
