I have the same problem. After my 30's, my metabolism slowed WAY down, although I was never skinny to begin with.

I went to Jenny Craig and dropped 49 lbs. and looked great!!! But the minutes I stopped eating THEIR food, the weight came back. Then I had a hysterectomy and am going through Memopause. Such fun...NOT! My weight continued to climb. I am now at the most weight I've ever been at and to say I am embarassed is an understatement. When I tell people what I weigh (I don't go announcing it) they look at me and say I carry it well. I wish I felt that way!!!

I went to Weight Watchers with my best friend and my daughter a few years back. I lost about 30 lbs (this was BEFORE my hysterectomy). My daughter dropped 45 pounds and has kept it off for over 5 years. I also still have the books, the little chart thingy and stuff. But it's difficult to stay on a diet when you're all by yourself. At least with my daughter and friend Susie, we had each other as a support group.
