    Shelter adoption weekend....PICS!

Last weekend I helped out at our Shelter's adoption event. We took 12 dogs and two (Sally and Dietz) found a forever homes!

Here is the handsome Dietz (Deetz) man! He has been at the shelter for 2 months, he is 7 years old and was constantly looked past. He finally found his forever home! I had gotten so attached to this boy and I was just sooo happy for him!

Sally also found her forever home....

These guys are still looking for forever homes

    Here is handsome Charles

Goofy Sadie, she was soo silly and so well behaved the whole time we were there. She loves to cuddle and to be very close to people.

And Dixie and purty Coonhound girl, she is also really goofy and boy is she LOUD but I think it adds to her charm, unfortunately not everybody thinks so here is the gorgeous girl...

And Kaylee, I think she was really overwhelmed by the whole thing but she did very good

Handsome Jeff, a lot of people were drawn to him but no real takers, hopefully this guy will find his forever home soon

Oh and heres Howard, he is sooo sweet! He has such a nice personality...

Mr. Jeb, a couple fell in love with him and I was sure he found his forever home but they backed out...poor Jeb

Chip was such a sweet little thing, he is extremely quiet and really skinny

And Goldie!! Goldie attached himself to me right away and would not let me out of his sight. I felt bad because people would come over to look at him and he would plaster himself against me or try to climb on my lap. Some people took him for a walk and the whole time he was looking over his shoulder at me, he was definately a sweetie and reminded me so much of Jack. He has such a sweet personality and is an "okie dokie" dog, they estimated that he was between 6-8 months, if I didn't have such a full house already I would have snatched him up! I even went back to the shelter to visit him again today, I was sooo surprised that he didn't get adopted!! Here is the handsome boy, he even has pretty golden eyes to match!

What a great thing to do. I never really thought about how getting a dog out of the shelter and into another environment could help in finding him a forever home. But, Dietz just made me think about that. He was ignored at the shelter, but put him in a situation where petting and handling is easy, and he found a home. How wonderful for him. I hope the other dogs are as lucky. Charles really is gorgeous, and Chip looks like he is so cute.

They are all so beautiful! I'm so glad that quite a few got adoped, and I'm certain the others will find homes of their very own, also.
