Ugh I hear ya - I have thin hair too. I hate it. For years I had a perm because it looked like my hair actually had a little body, but I recently got it cut to just above my shoulders and straightened. I think no matter what hair we have, we always want something different Did you try going in to a salon and talking to someone about it? I am very lucky, my sister is a stylist and does my hair; she comes up with some really good ideas
