I would love to hear more about both of your furbabies. I adopted a new dog about a week after I lost my first dog. And I felt much the same way you did. She was not my Peaches, and I would never feel the same way about her. For the first nine months I kept telling people who would ask, that Peaches was my baby, but that Ginger was my dog. She is sooo different than Peaches. Well, we have been together two and a half years now, and somewhere between the time that she was nine months old and one year, she somehow became my baby. Have no fear, without you even realizing it you will find that you are totally in love with the big guy, and could not imagine your family without him. I am so glad that your daughter has already formed a bond with him. I am sure he will be quite happy in his new home and worm his way right into your heart.
