Welcome Onyx. Especially from our resident black cat (with a white patch on the tummy), Percy Peapod.

Love the silky hair and beautiful face - very fine features!

And Remus...are you going to give Onyx cattitude lessons?
LOL Remus and Spook are both giving very good Cattitude lessons! There was a bit of hissing at first (mostly from Spook) but after a couple of days of hiding under the bed and sulking, Spook and Onyx are now very good friends. In the morning, I now have THREE little moose-cats trying to run me over!!

QSA, I checked around the neighborhood and found out that a cat very similar to Onyx in markings and shape reciently had a litter of kittens. I've seen the poor girl near my apartment complex and have tried to pet her, but she is very very skittish. From the color of Onyx's fur, I can almost guess at who the father might be: a big orange tom who has been around our complex since before we moved in. (You can see a bit of orange tabby mixed in with the black fur if Onyx is in the right light. It's kind of an odd effect.)

It was obvious that no one was feeding Onyx, as he is a bony little guy...far too light for what I'm guessing is his age. (We figure about 3-4 months tops...any other guesses?) It seems like he just got his first set of teeth, and he still tries to suckle our fingers at times. He is a bit of a beggar, and a food stealer too! We haven't had to watch our plates with Remus and Spook but Onyx will make off with an entire steak if you let him!! My roomate is absolutely in love with him, which is a good thing. They are very attached to each other and so far Remus and Spook are getting attached too!
