Here's the latest update as of evening of 8/18......

PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST

I know a lot of folks have been wondering about Nikko, the american eskimo who bolted during his transport to his forever home on Saturday. The bad news is- he still hasn't been caught. But the good news is- people are still seeing him. The area is flooded with flyers, announcements have been made on the radio, and there are at least 4 humane traps set. We have a local volunteer who's offered to be the contact in the area to arrange search efforts.

If you live in the area or will be visiting it over the weekend, please contact Vi to help in our search & rescue efforts ([email protected]). Nikko's forever family is anxiously waiting for word on his capture!!!

Wanda is ERU's contact who lives in Maryland, if you happen to catch him- contact her immediately!!!
301-617-2747 We have volunteers who have offered to short-term foster him until he can get to his forever home.

Once again, he will be tired & probably dirty, but here's a description of Nikko. And remember, he will not approach strangers, so please carry something yummy and DO NOT call him by name, folks who have done that have said he takes off right away:
