That is a common misconception about fostering. Although it does happen, the urge to keep them all gives way to logic.
You are not sending them off to fend for themselves, they are getting great, pre-screened homes.
You can't keep them all. I'd have over 40 cats by now if I did.
And the best motivation, everytime I see a cat leave me home, and know I will never see or hold them again, I picture, in my mind, a cage door opening, and another cat walking out from certain doom to safety. Sometimes it is so close, they are on their last day.
We need more fosters, for all organizations.
