The oncologist suspended Smokey the Elder's chemo in March 1999 because of a suspicious ultrasound. She thrived for nine more months, only declining in the last week. Chemo is rough on a cat, even though they don't often show it. I hope Sasha will take full advantage of her remaining time to become more spoiled than ever.
