I had a problem with one of my male cats spraying around the house. He marked mostly near doors and windows, but also in the bathroom - on my bathrobe!
At night I would use a black light to find the spots, clean them with all sorts of cleaners and enzymes, I even hung tinfoil so that the sound of the spray hitting it would scare him... NOTHING worked.
This summer I purchased an almond body lotion, and to avoid mixing fragrances, I stopped using cologne (C K One). My cat has not sprayed since then. Maybe it's a coincidence, but it's something worth considering. I would be wearing my robe in the morning while getting dressed, and when I applied my cologne!
I've searched the internet for anyone with a similar story and haven't found anything other than a zoo that uses Calvin Klein Obsession to initiate mating in their tigers!
There are all sorts of strange things in cologne, and maybe my cat was reacting to that... perhaps he thought I was spraying and so he would spray too? Who knows the mind of a cat?
Worth a try! I wish you luck... know the frustruation!
Miss Minnie
