Sweet Melissa, I think you are doing the absolute best thing!! It's just not worth the risk, subjecting Presley to such stress. And it would be very hard for me to be close friends with anyone who would strike or terrorize an animal; especially if it were mine! I hope your friend can come to understand that you are taking this step out of love and concern for a living being you cherish. If she is any sort of a true friend, she will accept that.
