It's not a cross between a chinchilla and guinea pig. Those two can't interbreed. Degus are a rodent cousin of the chinchilla. They do though, resemble an oversized gerbil or guinea pig/squirrel combo. Their about the size of a full grown male rat, with agouti coloring. Meaning brown and cream hairs mixed together, with black ticking at the top. This is the natural color of most wild rodents.
