Thats impressive. I'd actually like to see how that was done. For that light of a body, that motor must have made that car fly!

And just to clarify, my speaker system is quite loud admittedly, but my intent (and I did succeed at it I think) was to build a system that had good clarity and sound reproduction as well as a lot of thump. I am quite mindfull of how I am irritating people and try to keep the volume down in residential areas and at night.

And to clarify on my part and as a person with just one working ear, I'm not concerned about your neighbors comfort, but YOUR hearing.

DJ, keep us updated on "the little blue pill". I'm in the process of modifying a 1996 Ford Contour. Maybe we should start a Pet Talk sport compact club?

Actually Freckels...thank you! Part of my livilihood rests upon my ability to hear (I'm a techno DJ). Also, since my vsion really stinks, I rely more on what I hear than what I see. Thanks for your concern, It does mean a lot to me.

LOL Ladys Human. Keep me updated on the Contour. I haven't seen a lot of those modified. I wonder if anyone else has a sport compact they'd like to talk about!! I'd join a PT car club

David, if you plan on upgrading it, sure!! We actually have a little car club locally that specializes in unusual build ups. (Not those stupid Honda, Fast and the Furious rip offs)

My roomate has an Olds cutlass station wagon he wants to buld. That thing is a pain in the butt to work on though .

David, I've rebuilt the V-6 in those cars, PITA doesn't begin to describe it.

As far as the contour goes, I have an intake kit, underdrive pulley set, and a chip waiting to go in, and I have a suspension kit that should be in soon. I'm not trying to build a blazing fast car, just one that corners like it's on rails.

I bet when you started out you never dreamed a car could become such an special thing in your life. At least I never dreamed it. A car was just a car till we got our TII.

I wonder how many PT members are really into their car's? But if you want to talk cars, I can do that. Car's have become a huge part of our life.

Anyway, heres' a link to our car, several years in the making and still always something else left to do. Seem like we are never satisfied. our car

Fox Gal- Nice Ride!!! Looks like you put a lot into it. I'll have to show the hubby when I get home

Thanx wolflady. Sometimes I think the stereo is worth more than the car

The Kelly Blue Book says it's suggested retail price on a 93 Festiva with a sound system *of course engine upgrades and the like arent concidered* (Suggested retail price is the price a car dealership is most likely to start at in my area) is $1,865.

    what do they know?

Eh, at least its real cheap to isure albeit for a morbid reason. When I went to go insure my station wagon, I was shocked to see that it cost more to insure it than my Festiva, even though the wagon is conciderbly older (its an 84). I asked why, and they told me that the likelihood of me being flat out killed in my Festiva in a collision is rather high, therefore they don't have to pay out as much medical than if I got into a collision with the wagon because in the wagon, I'd be more likely to be injured and have an extended stay in the hospital. In essence, its cheaper to burry me than it is to fix me if I were injured.
    I just LOVE insurance companies!!
