Laurie checking in from Gini's. Everyone here is snoozing except the orangies and me. I've started the coffee and just hope my clickity click on the computer doesn't wake up Gini in the next room. The four tons of chicken are still frozen solid so that's my first agenda... chicken patrol.... after I have a cup of coffee of course (um, maybe with a shot of Slicks Baileys). Ieee doggies, she made six bottles of the stuff Lots to do this a.m. - lemonade, extra tables and all but many willing hands to help so it will no doubt go like the first few days... lots of belly laughs and guffaws. What an adventure, and the "party" hasn't even really started

I'm so glad that Mary is all right! Hugs to everyone from Mary's home of Columbia, South Carolina! Please say hello to Mary for me! That sucks about her plane and the hotel. I'm glad she's safe, now, though.

    Report from "headquarters"....................

Slick has taken over backyard clean up duties - everything is now sparkling and clean.

Laurie is setting up some kind of breakfast..................

Mary has been given onion slicing duties for a the casseroles.......
yes and she is now crying.

(Mary is just a trooper after her huge ordeal and we have her already laughing over goofy stuff in the kitchen - such a nice lady!)

I truly don't know what I would do without all of them helping out.

Yesterday my sense of humor completely failed me as I was dealing with the plumbing problems. I woke up with a much better attitude.

Annie is now warming up to the girls - and I understand that she got a good belly rub from Slick. I tried to tell her - but it has taken a few days for her to warm up to all of this company. Emma just doesn't "do" company.

It is my turn in the shower - so let's see if I can clog it all up again today

Oh my! Such activity and goings on! Our day, by comparison, seems so calm. We started the day yesterday with a wonderful breakfast with some yummy yummy eggs, sausage, cheese cuiche type dish made by Sara and some delicious fruit and yogurt made by Randi. They we went on a hike through the neighborhood, up the steeeep hill to see the view, then down through the mansions and we all picked out "our" house. Then we lounged around - in the pool and on the patio. Then went had a wonderful dinner at great place where the deck overlooks the harbor, but we couldn't sit outside because there was a 125 member wedding rehearsal party hogging the entire deck. Can you imagine - 125 for the rehearsal dinner? What is the wedding going to be like? We finished the evening with a walk around the docks and fed our left over fish to some feral cats. They gobbled it up! Came back and some of us hit the pool again, Terry and I went to bed - pooped!

So, today is the day! I think we're leaving here around noon so Gini, expect us around 1:00 or so. Can't wait!!!

    Zip here:

Aaron, Karen and I are the only ones up. Phoebe, Micah, Noah, and I are thinking of waking the other sleepy heads but are tying to be good and let them rest! Think I"ll just jump in the shower first, while it's open.
    ...RIP, our sweet Gini...

So exciting! I am soooo glad Mary finally made it, and now we all know to never to fly Independence Air - at least not if you want to arrive anywhere on a particular day!

    Hugs to everyone!

    Barbara,

We really do need some more Europeans to 'represent'.

Sending Randi to check us out was smart....

    Karen,
    Thank you for checking in.

All the fun we have today will be because of you, Paul, Ms. Hoppy and Pet Talk.

Thank you again for putting this site and all these great pet lovers together...

KAK and I are reading the posts and slurping virgin slushies (MUCH to Richard's disgust! we don't give him scope for his imagination!)

UABassoon and Alexa (sorry, I've forgotten her screen name) and Catland and the mister are all here and we're happily getting to know one another. Gini's put up some flags at the base of one of her trees that represent the countries and states represented this BarBQue... Oh I wish I were better at recognizing them so I could get a better guess for the Mystery Guest. I'm hoping someone will post the signpost Richard's having us make to represent the distances travelled. I think you'll love it.

KAK's back over my shoulder and sends warm regards. You've just been saluted with a slushie. Don't you all wish you were here?

(Oh! The hors d'ouvres (or however you spell it) are delicious. Wish that you could be enjoying them, too.)

The Goldens from across the street are here. Bye.
