Thread: PT smilies

    PT smilies

Does anyone else ever wish we had a greater variety of smilies to use on Pet Talk? I sometimes wish we could have more smilies. Sometimes....we just need to express different emotions that aren't available here. I wish we had a laughing smilie, a hugging smilie, a crying smilie, and some others. I don't even know what's the point of this thread. I was just sitting here, observing the smilies, and wishing we could have some more.

It would be nice to have a larger variety, but I trust Karen and Paul to provide for us what they can.

I agree that it would be nice to have more smilies but I like the ones we have right now.

I already have a bunch of my favorites in my photobucket account (which I usually keep open) to use on various boards.

Clever minds think alike! I was hoping for a "tear" one too. Maybe plain old sad face can be replaced with sad face with tear? Altho I do like to think that PT makes me laugh and smile 99% of the time! The rest of the time, the sadnes that sometimes occurs makes me so upset I can't even find words to reply.

Yeah...that's how I feel. There are so many times when we NEED a laughing smilie......so many times when we need a teary-eyed smilie, and so many times when we need a hugging smilie, etc. I wish we could have at least a few more. Most other forums I've visited have a huge selection, and I think having more smilies would be nice. Its just too much of a hassle going to search the web for smilies when you need to post something right away.

You could always keep your own photobucket supplied with them, or some other server, and open it up while posting on PT, just a suggestion.

I wouldn't mind a few other smilies, but I've never really needed others. One of the things that I like about PT more than a few of the sites i'm on the reply page takes ages to load because there's so many smiles to choose from!

I absolutly agree with you, Kay. I have been to a few boards that have all of these flashy smilies, and some of the threads are impossible to wade through to read because there is always something flashing out of the corner of my eye. I think the PT smilies are very tasteful, and if there were more, that they are of the same character.

I have been thinking about that also for a while. Can we get more smilies? How can we find out if we can get more?

    I see how it works!!!

There are some cute ones at this site: http://www.clicksmilies.com/ and you copy the code and they appear here...like or ..you just paste properties into the img box, or as others have suggested, pick your favorites and put them in your photobucket.(or wherever)

[color=purple]ah.. for some reason popcornbird's smilies wish popped in my mind.. and thought of an idea but didn't see until just now that kay said it -

as you've see in my posts everywhere now - I don't know if your 17" computer has the same method as my sidekick, it has an 'auto-text' program.. that I will only need to type in two letters instead of two sentences, once I press spacebar, the two letters (whatever you memorized) changes into two sentences automically.

    examples -
    ----
    pg (pink grin) = ) ..

fb (furious blue as 'bf' is already reserved for 'boyfriend'.. ) = ..

cp = [\color] - etc., etc.. all I created are ready for me. that's what I love the most about my sidekick!

anyway, maybe you can find a software or something like that on yours and auto'ize' your photobucket links instead of painfully typing it all. you'll do it if you want more so bad.
rest and sleep softly sweet locke..
