birthday gift ideas?

my boyfriends sisters birthday is today and i don't know what to get her?
She is a Security guard. She has dreads and likes earthy type of modern clothes and i don't what to get her? i was thinking of a gift card from A.E (American Eagle) but that is such a thoughtless gift.

I don't think gift cards are thoughtless. I think they are very appropriate. Rather than getting someone something that they don't like or want you are giving them the opportunity to pick out something they want or need. I enjoy getting them!

Getting someone a gift card is always better than getting them something they would never use or something they'd return to get something else.

What about the gift card with a home made card? If you make the card, she'll know you spent time and consideration into it... and she get to buy what she wants with the giftcard!

i think maybe i will make a card for her, and give her a gift card. i mean you are all right. i don't want to get her something she will take back or never use.
Plus i like making cards, since i've started scrapbooking i have most of the tools to make a great card!
