Well, the room isn't off-limits yet. As a matter of fact, he spends most of his day in here. He sleeps in the window most of the time.

The thing is, he will use the litterbox... just not consistently. He's had accidents in here (this room is also my computer room) as well as in the living room and kitchen. There's just no pattern to it, which is what confuses me. The only thing that changed was the location of the litterbox.
