Do you think it would be okay to put some sunscrean around Nala's hot spot? (Not close to it, but around it) Since they shaved off such a large portion of her fur i'm afraid of her getting burnt.
Has anyone ever had any similar situations?

I've put sunscreen on a couple of my dogs before, when they had shaved spots or really light colored noses. My vet recommended the stuff that is made to put on human infants. Seemed to work fine and the dogs had no ill effects.
Hope Nala is all healed up soon.
edited to add: I just went and found the bottle. The brand I used was Johnson & Johnson Waterbabies.--waterproof is also apparently resistent to licking!

If I remember right, it is okay to use sunscreen on dogs, just make sure it is PABA free
I used waterbabies 15 on my RB Corey. He was a shepard/collie and had collie nose. He had to have it on his nose everytime he was in the sun.
Forever in my heart...
