Glad to hear that Peanut is doing well and that they are making a fuss over her. Once she starts to feel a little better I am sure she will regain her appetite. By the way, yes I am sure they had to shave her leg to put the catheter in during surgery. Don't be surprised if she keeps pointing it out to you when you return. Gidget had her surgery almost 4 weeks ago and the fur is finally growing back nicely, but up until a few days ago, she kept showing it to me as if to say "is it going to stay like this forever"?

Speedy recovery sweet Peanut. Know that your Mewomie misses you and will be back with you soon. Hope CJ is doing well too.

Oh Peanut it is sooo good to know you are doing better. I hope and pray with all my heart and soul that you will have a quick and productive recovery and be back to your beautiful sweet self before long. You have had us all very worried and your meowmie and pawpie miss having you with them terribly. You get well sweetie. Scritchies for you little one and lots and lots of cuddles and kisses.

Keep us posted on how she is coming along Debbie. Your Peanut and her recovery is close to my heart.

The vet tech probably has a standard routine for answers to follow for furkids that have had major surgery. I think it sounds like Peanut is doing very well, especially with all the extra loving she's getting there. She'll be so spoiled she won't want to come home! I know you're anxious to get home and see her for yourself, and I bet she'll be glad to see you. Give her headbumpies from her hospital roomie, Sammy boy!
Give me your tired, your abandoned, your unwanted and I will give them a life of love.

The update sounds good. (it is going to seem like forever until you see her again, isn't it?)

So good that at least you could hear something of Peanut- I am sure they must love her over there. Who could not love her

Virtual hugs for both of you.

Hi everybody, reporting in from just south of Greenville, TX, just Northeast of Dallas. I called again about 45 minutes before closing, hoping it would be a little slow for them, and I think I was successful. The tech was a little more forthcoming with information and I also got to talk to the doc. First of all though, the tech answered in her normal business voice. I said this is Debbie and I'm just calling to check up on Peanut. She immediately went into a sweet sappy voice and said "Awww Peanut, she's such a sweety." I think she's charming the pants off them.

Anyway, onto the important stuff. The tech then asked me what Peanut normally eats. Seems they haven't been able to get her to eat much yet, but I think that's still normal and starting to get a little worrisome, but not too much yet.

Then I got to talk to the doc. He said she's doing fine for what she's been through. She's producing urine which is good, and he said she is not incontinent because where she lays is not wet, but she's not making it to the box all the time either so he's watching that. But he explained she only has 50% of her bladder left, and the bladder itself went through quite a trauma, so so far nothing is out of the ordinary. He did say that eventually the bladder will stretch a little more, but more than likely she will have to go to the bathroom more often than before, which is to be expected if your bladder is smaller. And I would think, if it's painful to move, I wouldn't make it all the way to the bathroom either!

So he said everything is going as well as can be expected and she's doing well. She is up and moving around, but still weak, which is also to be expected.

I know that even if I was home, I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing her home yet, but at least I'd be able to visit her, and let her know her meowmy hasn't abandoned her, but we'll be home before she and we know it and she's better off at the vet anyway. But yes Jen, it has already seemed like forever, and I just wish I could give her a little smooch and tell her its all going to be ok....

But, like I say, all in all, she's doing as well as can be expected. I will be calling again tomorrow morning, but we pick up the new motorhome tomorrow and then we travel back to Oklahoma where there is no signal, so I will check in when I can.

Please keep the good thoughts and prayers going for my little sweet pea - thanks.

Sounds as if she's doing OK, although I know there will be a few more weeks of healing. I'm sure she misses you just as much as you miss her. Don't worry Daddy, she'll be on your lap again in no time.
I'm home tomorrow morning until 9am if you need to talk.

    Debbie,
I'm glad to see a good update on Peanut. She sounds like she's doing really well, especially considering such a large surgery.

I agree, I think its best she's recovering at the vet vs. at home. I'd be scared too!

I'll be keeping her in my prayers.

    Hugs,
    Kelly

Well, this looks like good news, very encouraging. And you are both a long way from home! - so safe journey back and a hopefully happy reunion with Peanut. By the time you get back she'll have perked up a bit I'm sure, she probably wouldn't have wanted you to see her at her worst anyway, cats have their pride you know They're so smart you'd almost wonder if she'd timed it to save you the pain of seeing her before she was back on her feet and groomed and preened. Best wishes to you all.

Hopefully Peanut will be up and ready to cmoe home when you get back.

She might need a few more litter boxes available now that her bladder is smaller. I know that my diabetic cat (they need to pee more often) needed to have boxes closer to him than he did when he was well.

Hearing that I also feel that it would be anyway to early to take her home. MUCH better if someone can watch her. But she is out and about- that's good

Regarding what big surgery it was Peanut really is amazing
