We, as a group, try to remember too look at the birthday listings at the bottom of home page and someone will usually start a thread. but many birthdays seem to get passed by due to time restraints etc. I rarely start one myself, as someone usually beats me to it. And I personally don't get to the general board all that often to post or respond. I presume there are many like me.
