I called my Senator's office today to check on the status of HB1096 and HB2840. I was assured they died the death they deserved. They were bad bills and would have made awful law. Hooray! The good guys and gals won one for our pups!!
I want to thank everyone who called, faxed and emailed!! This result was the fruit of your efforts and tenacity. State politicicans really did listen to what you said. I watched HB1096 when it reached the Senate floor Tuesday. Many senators who debated whether to suspend regular business to hear this bill mentioned faxes, emails and calls they had received from their constituents. This bill was not voted on Tuesday or Wednesday, so it died.
Interestingly, HB2840 was on the docket but it was never called, so it died, too. Whew.
