Don't know any advice about your situation, just had to share that I also had a recent minpin experience! My aunt and uncle just got a minpin puppy a couple of weeks ago. It is soooo cute! Couldn't weigh more than a pound! I went to their house this weekend for a Labor Day cookout, and I was constantly on the lookout for the little guy - I was so afraid of stepping on him!
He seems timid but good-natured; he loves to play with his siblings, my two 7 year old and one 6 year old cousins. He also really likes my aunt's 10-year-old daschund and keeps climbing into his bed to curl up with him. I wish I had a picture of this tiny puppy in the same bed with an old, chubby dachsund - it was very sweet to see!
