Personally, I thought it was hilarious! - but then, I'm not a 'kid person.' I told my husband that I'd found the perfect gift for his aunt; she could really use it.

One problem I see with his family and some on my dad's side of the family is that these kids have too much stuff. I know parents want to give their children the life they never had but do they *really* need a GameCube or a Playstation 3 the second it comes out? Can it not wait until their birthday? Or does your fifth grader need a cellphone? My friend was a student teacher last semester and she taught fifth graders, some of who, yes, had their own (not borrowing mom or dad's) cell phone.

I didn't grow up rich by any stretch of the imagination but I grew up comfortable. There was nothing that I *needed* that I didn't have. There were things that I *wanted* but unless it was Christmas or birthday or some really special event, I saved up my allowance and bought it myself.

Anyway, I'm off the subject and I don't want to offend anyone out there. It's just I've seen these kids backtalk their parents and other relatives and I want to scream! - maybe I'd feel different about the cellphones and such if they were nice, polite children who seemed to deserve them....but like I said, I'm not a kid person, I'm an animal person. I know there are many people that are both...I'm just not one of them.
