I agree with Jessica, YLY, and everyone. . its a very cool experiment, and I'm SURE the babies had a much better chance at surviving with your help than drying up in a puddle. I remember when I was 5 or 6, we lived on acreage and we had a few tadpole puddles in the spring. When they would start to dry out, I'd drag the hose or a bucket of water over and fill up all of their puddles so they could live. Of course, my parents did not like this because that meant more loud frogs and toads everywhere tadpoles are adorable, though. . its so awesome to watch them grow! have you named them?
