Wonderful stories by everyone. They've made me rather soggy.

My sweet Sami (RB Feb 24, 2004) came from an ad in the newspaper. I just went to look. There were 3 of the 8 puppies left. I sat on the ground and she came and sat in my lap - I was sold. I had her for 12 years and 6 days. I still miss her terribly.

Sasha came to me via the local humane society. Sami was 4 and I felt she needed a dog pal. I had been looking for just the right dog for a long time. I walked into the dog portion of the humane society and there in kennel number 1 was this skinny, cute dog whose face looked EXACTLY like Sami's. Same white strip and all. Well she barked her face off at me but when I went inside with her she hid in the corner - she had to be mine so I could love her and treat her right. I had to wait 4 days before I could take her cause she'd been picked up as a stray and they give owners 7 days to turn up. No one did, thankfully and she was mine to take. She's a great girl, really coming out of her shell now that she is over her depression after Sami's passing last year. She's enjoying being the only dog and we'll keep it that way for her for her remaining years (she's 11). She's kept entertained by her two ferret friends.
