Ramps grow in the wild in forests, usually in higher elevations. It's a root plant that tastes like a cross between garlic and shallots. They are like raspberries in that they only grow in the wild for about 4 weeks a year. In the mountains and hollars of South Carolina, Georgia etc they have "Ramp Festivals" every Spring. Very tasty but potent (don't stand behind someone that's been eating them)
