    ahem,

Well tonight it's spicy mexican rissoles, and bbq'd fried onions, with sorbaise potatoes, buttered baby peas and corn.

Last night I grilled this outrageous hunk of primo steak. I also had some saute'd mushrooms and ramps a friend had brought in from a hike along the BlueRidge Mountains. YUM, ramps! Also some baked potatoes and sugar snap peas. When my daughter-in-law and I cook (often) - we ROCK! Had a little side of Bernaise sause (OK, ready made ). It was wonderful

Laurie, that sounds absolutely yummy!!!! What the heck are ramps???

I forgot take dinner out of the freezer yesterday so last night I had a grilled cheese sandwich with onion.

Tonight I've got some hamburger I need to do something with. Got no mashed potatoes so I guess Shephard's Pie is out of the question. Maybe just a quick burger with lettuce and tomato.

Ramps grow in the wild in forests, usually in higher elevations. It's a root plant that tastes like a cross between garlic and shallots. They are like raspberries in that they only grow in the wild for about 4 weeks a year. In the mountains and hollars of South Carolina, Georgia etc they have "Ramp Festivals" every Spring. Very tasty but potent (don't stand behind someone that's been eating them )

Slick, I made a sort of Italian Shepherds Pie last week. I had hamburger, onion, corn, tomatoes and tomato sauce with basil and oregano in it. Then I put garlic mashed potatoes on top and put mozzarella cheese on top of that. It was really good.

Now Kay, that's just nothing but torture!!!
Here I am, hours away from dinnertime and you are waving those pizzas in front of my nose.....

excuse me while I go and wipe off the drool from my keyboard...

Val, thanks for the tip. That sounds yummy but I'm missing a few ingredients. Looks like a trip to the store on my way home tonight.

HA Slick, and you disparage me for drooling? That pizza is good Kay, one time you should try goat cheese. Supposedly verrry yuppie [notice the "I-E" on the end of "yuppie") but my goodness, goat cheese is good! A real rejoice for the thoughts and Karma behind "Cinco de Mayo".

Have you ever tried fresh banana peppers scooped out and filled with cream cheese? Sprinkle on top with paprika or Old Bay. Oh WOW. Kay, you are eating WELL!
