Perhaps it's just that it's hard to read how someone is intending to say something, but I don't think there's anyway to misconstrue this:

  2. I'm sorry, but small dogs don't strut around like Rottweilers. Lexi doesn't do that. Sorry to say, she respects how small she is but some small dogs don't like to be as little as they are and in that case want to feel big, so they act big.

Calling little dogs names like that can actually torture a person inside, I can't just sit back and look at people saying things like that about my dog behind my back. I don't have ANYTHING against ANY dog. I love them all, big or small!

Also, if you intimidate a small dog, then they will go for the closest thing to the ground, that being the ankles. So you inflict that upon yourself, its not the dog's fault. Little dogs are just as good as ANY other dog out there.

I have had my fair share of owning big dogs and small dogs, and can not take either vote because they are all simply amazing in their own individual ways! Thats what makes them so special! They are a BIG dog disguised in a little dogs body!

And saying they are squeak toys, was really rude, and affected a lot of us. Besides, squeak toys are adorable! That may be the way you feel, but its best not to put it out to us and say that you want a "REAL DOG"They are all real.

Ok, so JRs don't strut around like Rottweilers...they strut around like Pit Bulls.

My choice of other is a cairn terrier. They have the cutest faces and the sweetest personalities. I know, I have had 2 of them and wouldn't trade them for the world.

That's upsetting I always thought that people here weren't that judgemental. My RB dog, Lillian was a West Highland Terrier and I find it so upsetting thast you would clump a whole group of dogs together. Not only is it shallow, it is also very irrational.

Maltese for me....I don't own a purebred Maltese but I do have a Maltese/Rat Terrier. Maltese are such elegant looking dogs, even though I would keep the hair short like a "puppy cut".

I chose Chihuahua and Maltese. I always told myself i'd never own a small dog, big dogs were for me... but i've fallen in love with Chi's.

I just read some of the comments in this thread and they are truely upsetting, and I don't even own a small dog nor have I ever.

Oh there are so many of them I could never choose a favorite. Although Bishon Frise and Yorkies come really close.

I have yet to see anything upsetting in this thread lol mostly amusing at the kinds of things people will take offence too lol

I am not a fan of little dogs, I like Ripley to cuddle with but I can cuddle with Misty just as well, Ripley however is simpley more inclined to keep me warm under the covers lol I am a big dog person as long as the dog is not an in your face kinda dog. the only little dogs I like are

silkie terriers-I like them to visit but not to have lol
    poms-again, to visit.
Papillions-to own but I would prefere a phalene.
