Can you make room for one more?

I can arrive at LAX at 11PM Thursday night and leave at midnight Sunday for $99.00 plus taxes. Is there a motel 6 (or equivalent) in the area? Being directionally challenged, I'm sure to get lost without a guide. Help!

$99!!!! From the East Coast yet. Dang, who could resist? Motel 6, LaQuinta.. I'm sure there are several "cheap, safe" motels close to the airport. I'm sure something can be found. Let's see what we can do Mary. (Us "old ladies" - I read your profile) need to stick together

Sorry, I was wrong. It's $238.80 round trip on Independence Air.
Still a heck of a deal.

I won't even think of what's going to happen to my ears. Last time I flew I was in agony. That was many years ago.

If someone needs a place to stay, I'm willing to share.

Well I figured it was $99 each way but you're right, that's still a good price. Most closeby motels have a shuttle from airport to motel so the arrival/departure time shouldn't be a concern. A few people may be wanting to share that have quarters closer in town.. That's up to you guys. I imagine some private messages will ensue between now and July to figure it out. Some of us have friends and family in the area so needn't get involved with those kinds of logistics. There are plenty of things to do and see in LA for times not spent on a Saturday afternoon at a BBQ.

I don't really care where I stay as long as there is a bed and a bathroom. I have no plans except the BBQ. For once in my life, I'm going to "go with the flow'.

Did I see something about a trip to see some male dancers?

Been there, done that.....my 50th was a blast.

Mary, nice to hear that you will be joining us on Saturday. I'm one of the "mature" members of the crowd...not into too much parteeing. I'm sure some of the younger members will probably be planning some activities outside of Saturday. I know that Disneyland was mentioned. Anyway, there's plenty of time for planning. I just know that you are in for a good time with lots of laughs.
