The worst bite I ever recieved was from a golden retriever. I've never seen ANY bully breed dog look like that!! On the other hand....Maximus is too wonderful for words!! What a face!
ETA: Pit Bulls ARE more predisposed to dog aggression than other breeds, but among well-loved and well-maintained pitties, aggression towards humans is very rare. As for the dog aggression....As long as you know your dog's limits (And that applies to ALL dogs) you can avoid putting the dog in a situation where he feels like he has to defend himself.
My co-worker has two of the most LOVING couch potato pitties in the world. They live together, play together, and are great with everyone. However, he knows that he shouldn't bring them around his brother's mini aussies, because the pits go into "overload" around the little energetic guys, and the odds that they might get overwhelmed and lash out go up when they're overstimulated like that.
It's about knowing where your own dog's personal limits are. Some pitties are wonderful at the dog park, some need to play more quietly. I'm done rambling now...
