Hi!!!
I'm sitting here in my hospital bed on David's laptop while he's at his youth group thing.
THANK YOU so much for your prayers and emails! Each time I see a hospital volunteer walk into my room with an envelope, my heart flutters and I can't wait to hear from my friends.
I'm pretty sure I'll be going home on Friday. I have another small bowel series scheduled for tomorrow morning. It's the fifth on I've had so far, so these tests are getting to be less scary at this point.
I'm still in a lot of pain, but they've given me a button to press to medicate myself. Its Dilauted (I think that's how you spell it) and it works a lot better for me than the morphine. It doesn't leave you as loopy, is safer and helps stop the pain.
My doctor is having me go see a IBD specialist at Cedars Sinai on April 25th. Its an AMAZING hospital and the group of doctors in the IBD department are really well known and knowledgable. I'm happy about that, as my doctor has done everything he has the power to do.
My doctor has been the BEST through all this. I came to the ER on Thursday night in an amulence, as I was too painful and couldn't stop vomiting to move.He was on an airplane from Paris and didn't get home until 5 AM on Friday. His on-call doctor met me at the ER because he knew that I'd be fearful of the NG tube and wanted to explain its importance (drains the stomach of fluids so the obsructions in the colon/small bowel can heal). My doctor came to the hospital to see me at 10 AM that day! He's so great!! He's come to see me every day and is genuinely concerned about me. What an angel.
I miss my furballs like crazy!! I got a few cards from "them" and they were so cute!! I keep trying to convince David to sneak Micah in (the most easy going one outside our home)...but I don't think he feels like getting on the hospital's bad list.
I'll update more when I get home, but wanted to thank you all for your love, kindness, prayers, emails, calls, and friendship. You all mean so very much to me and I cannot tell you how much you've all helped me.
Lots of love and hugs,
Kelly![]()
