Of the five cats who live here, one is female. I thought about bringing her into my office to show her the photo of Beckham, but I know the image of Bo would push her to the edge of sanity, and cause her to curse us for ever having taken her to the vet to be spayed.

Furthermore, (it is good to throw in "furthermore" at every opportunity) this office is the territory of the black cat, who is stretched across my upper left arm and shoulder even as I type, and he prefers not to share it with any other feline, not even the calico, for whom he has a particular, platonic, affection.
