please, please, think LONG and HARD about getting a Border Collie. Be prepared to walk the dog 2-5 times a day (not around the block, for miles!) and practically live at the nearest off-leash park, where you'll spend hours upon hours of your life throwing the ball again and again, because most backyards are not big enough for a BC to fully get his/her energy out. I swear, BC's are crazy and really aren't for most people. You should want a BC because you want a consant every day jogging partner, a dog sport competitor, or a working dog, not just for Katie and Blaze or because they're so insanely cute and cool ,... oh, and if you must get a BC, definitely consider rescue, as Border Collies are one of the most common dogs abandoned at shelters (because of what I described above!)
