Cats are more intelligent than we give them credit for, because they learn very quickly our very habits. Normally, I am up at 2:30 or 3:30 AM (PST). 4 AM is late for me.. (Of course I bed early.) But my furkids are naturally active about midnight and again at about 6 AM -that is, even when they are not hungry. The only one that I am, concerned with is Tiger because she is not able to eat dry food, and apparently, she has a small stomach, because she eats often and a little at a time. But I have found that feeding the others with canned food mixed with dry before I bed out for the night, will last them most of the night without their crying for food. However, when they are hungry for canned food mix they will begin to make noise and make a rucous during the middle of the night. When I awake from such an episode, the house is in a mess.
