Ma'am, what you have there is a bobcat, a very handsome bobcat. They are known for exactly the type of behavior you describe in Cairo--head-butting, mountain-wandering, and playfulness. Please don't be embarrassed by your mistake in assuming that this large specimen is a mere cat--no, not a meerkat, a MERE CAT. Anybody could have made it.
