Just like Cass said, rats rarely bite, especially if they were raised correctly and handled since birth- they most likely will never bite.Originally posted by IRescue452
Adorable, from a distance. Still have a slight fear of rodents since I had gebils as a child. They are not children's pets. I'm working on holding my friend's rat though, havn't been bitten, yet. Eventually I would like a rattie of my own, but not for a while.
However, I did have two rats, Nugget & Sweet Pea, they were HORRIBLE biters. They would literally attack me and lunge at the cage whenever I got near the cage. They broke my skin many times (lost count) and I bled a lot- I have many scars from them. I do not know WHY they were like that, I worked so hard to gain their trust (so to say) and get them to stop, but they never did.I finally gave up and didn't bother- I kept gloves next to the cage. Other than those two, I have never been bitten by Oreo, Skittles, Peanut, Punkin, Fred, Oscar, Chloe, Daisy, Violette, Phoebe, Suzie (my RB rats), Eloise or Sophie.
