I was brought up Methodist where this isn't required but my husband is Southern Baptist and I cannot join his church (if I ever wanted to) without being baptized by immersion first.
Yes, infact I am a member of a Baptist church currently ( but have moved and I am now attending a Bible Church)...i wanted to get Baptized, and in the same process became a member there...they also would like you to be baptized before becoming a member, but that is different from becoming baptized in order to gain salvation...it is still not neccessary for that ( which I am sure you know) Just clarifying for others
