The dog who waited at the train station for all those years was a Japanese Akita dog. My husband is Japanese, and he says there is a big memorial site, with a statue of the dog, honoring his devotion!! Every time I hear that story I could cry. There is also a dog in England who laid by his masters' GRAVE (how did he know that is was him buried there?) until the dogs' death many years later. They buried the dog next to the master and erected a statue to him too! Just incredible!
