There is lots for this pup to adjust to. Do we know anything about his previous life? You mentioned at one time that his owners had been found but never came to claim him. Obviously he didn't have much training if he didn't know how to walk on a leash and I'm thinking there is a possibility he might not have been housebroken. Whatever the hurdles are, be patient and don't give up. There are plenty of people here with opinions (as you have already learned) for you to sort through. Some may be conflicting opinions and that is alright because (in my opinion) not every tactic works with every dog. You will soon have a feel for what works with Docker.
