A good friend of ours used to own a duplex. She lived downstairs and rented out the top floor. She had some real doozey's inthere!! they would start out okay, but after various tenant moved out, we cleaned some gross, disgusting unimaginable things out. In some cases, the drugs were the good news.
The bad part in those situations, is that the law is on the side of the tenants. It is a long, drawn out, process to evict a tenant. Even if your landlord wanted to get rid of this tenant, if she knows the rues and her rights, he would hav to go to court several times (from my understand andmy friend's expereince) before the would kick her out...even if she stops paying her rent. "Squatter's Rights" If she is paying her rent, it is probably much easier and worth it to him to have her there, then to go through the process of trying to kick her out.
