Depends on the dog. They each have their own insulated dog house that is filled with straw. There's enough of those around the yard that they could all sleep outside regardless of the weather. As long as it's not too windy, they prefer to sleep out in the snow. They don't use their doghouses much. When it was snowing on Saturday, they were very active--running and wooing alot! Snowstorms are fun for huskies!Originally posted by slick
Question: when it's that cold and snowy, where do the dogs sleep at night? Do you have a special shed for them?
However, I usually have several of them inside....Goldie sleeps in the arctic entry (enclosed winterized porch) with her boyfriend, Chase; Sleet & Preacher haven't spent a night outside in years. Sleet sleeps beside my bed on her princess pillow, Preacher has a bed in the coat closet. (he put it there on his own). Pingo, Chum, Pacer and Franklin are usually inside too--Pacer sleeps in the porch near Preacher, Pingo sleeps on the couch, Chum sleeps by the bed, and Franklin prefers to sneak onto the bed during the night! Hobo likes to sleep near the woodstove. Most nights there are between 8-10 dogs inside. I've had 17 in at once when it was -45C.![]()
