Grade A races are the top level races...They start out in schooling races... against other pups. THen they go onto "maiden races"...no prize money or betting (i think).. they have to "break their maiden" (win) to advance to graded races.. then it goes from D, C, B, and finally A level races.

If she doesn't race well, then her racing isn't profitable to the owners...some dogs dont make it out of schooling.. others make it all the way up to Grade A and beyond, then as they slow down or get injured their "graded off"... whichever happens..
